For the first time in many years Mimmi Magdalena
is allowing some of her pen and ink drawings
to be reproduced as limited edition prints, for sale exclusively through this site.
Over the coming months we will be featuring some
unique themed work, beginning with her much
admired ‘shut down environments’ series.
This series caused quite a stir when it was first seen;
certainly in the art world but also, surprisingly, among
the medical fraternity as well.
The reason being that the series was created at a time
when Mimmi was undergoing an experimental drug
test regime for a rare form of Parkinson’s disease.
She painstakingly and carefully captured the strange,
intense feelings induced by her treatment in a unique
series of allegorical pictures which stunned and informed her doctors in a manner that no verbal communication could ever hope to achieve.
